This is how I describe the other half of my team. Joseph Militello is one of the kindest an most giving people I know. He always has time to volunteer to raise money in the name of cancer. Joe lost his father to this horrible disease and has made the "fight against cancer" a high priority in his life.
Recently he performed for the The Sarah Lufkin Memorial Scholarship Fund, which he has done for the over ten years. The Sarah Lufkin Memorial Scholarship is named in honor of Sarah Lufkin who passed away from complications of leukemia in April 1997. Friends of the family set up a scholarship fund to help students who are studying in a field that will have a direct effect on children. Sarah was studying Early Childhood Education at Salem State College when she was diagnosed.

The meeting began with introductions from Mark Grenier, BankGloucester. The meeting began with a short overview from Gloucester's own Edward Moscovitch with Cape Ann Economics. Mr. Moscovitch introduced Massachusetts Housing and Economic Development Secretary Gregory Bialecki. Secretary Greg Bialecki did not use one signle note, which indicated to me his knowledge and dedication to Massachusetts and it's economic development.
As an overview he discussed the following:
Where Mass has Been Historically-Worse than the rest of the country;
Our Present Condition -- The turn-around-time for Massachusetts was the best in the country and MA was the first state to recover from our current downturn.
Forcast - Putting a long term Plan/Agenda for Massachusetts into effect. Massachusetts is Choosing to Compete.
I went to the The Northshore Business Forum breakfast meeting this morning and met some great people and learned something new about social networking.
The speaker was Sonja Fridell, Director of Marketing & Business Development at BRAINSELL. She did an EXCELLENT job explaining the product and had a wonderful slide presentation to go along with your discussion. It was an extremely informative meeting and I was extremely impress how easy it appears to get into social networking with BRAINSELL's CRM.
Met numerous people today and had many great conversations. So you too can get to know these people, I've list their names and company's below:
It was so much fun talking about vacations, social networking, writing content, eyeglass wear, and my parents! I highly recommend coming to one of these meetings; it truely is so much FUN!
Best of all was the speaker, Bonnie Herd Smith - History Smiths. I was so moved by her presentation of inspiring women. These women actually came from around here: Beverly, Salem, Peabody, Gloucester, Ipswich, Newburyport, and North Andover. Theyovercame obstacles to achieve great success, and in do so improved their communities. Some of the familiar names I head were Elizabeth Peabody, Anne Bradstreet. Bonnie has written a book about these women and is diligently working to get her book published.
I am a novel reader -- ONLY; however after hearing Bonnie I decided to place a pre-order for her book so I could learn more about these wonderful women who she mentioned throughout her speech.
Cities with high tech industries or a skilled workforce will excel in 2012.
In 2012, the local housing markets that will enjoy rising prices, new construction or both, are those that start the year with stronger job growth and fewer empty homes holding back the market. My top five cities to watch are Austin TX, Houston TX, San Jose CA, the Boston suburbs, and Rochester NY. Most of these cities have strong high-tech industries or high-skill workforces. During the housing boom, the go-go cities tended to be lower-skill, lower-education metros. But in 2012, smart is hot.
Went for a short walk this morning on Argilla Road. Let me back up just a bit, we live on Argilla Road, just about one-mile from Crane's Beach. I take many walks down Argilla, just hope I don't ever bore you with all the pictures I take because I do this all the time!!! So here goes: MY PICTURES:
This is the house next door; 259 Argilla Road, it was on the market. Have had an opportunity to show it and let me tell you it is beautiful. It recently sold for Sale Price: $1,400,000.
This is where I go for about an hour every day--to type for Clavel Ltd. Pretty Neat Products!
This is my favorite spot on Argilla--I'm sure you will see it again.
Today, like September 11th is a day to remember and take a moment to think about those lives lost.. The "Day will live in Infamy"... We are very thankful for those who survived! Attached is a great page outlining some of the detail as well as images of that tragic day.
Please take a moment of silence in rememberance of this day.
Instead of doing an open house today, I spent the day walking around Appleton Farms in Ipswich, Massachusetts. It was chilly at first, but when the sun came out it warmed right up. Just love taking those fall walks—so peaceful.

Greetings from Mexico!!!
Friday, November 18, 2010 WE are WORKING for YOU!
Dear Kathleen,
YOU DID IT!
Last night Congress restored the loan limits for the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) for two years.
As you know, in late September the FHA, Fannie Mae; and Freddie Mac loan limits were reduced in 42 states pricing potential home buyers out of the American Dream of home ownership and holding back the housing recovery.
NAR immediately went to work with the goal to get the loan limits restored in Congress. For weeks that goal seemed unlikely.
You, and countless other REALTORS® like you along with YOUR leadership and YOUR management team worked to educate Congress that well-qualified buyers didn't need yet another hurdle to access affordable mortgage financing.
They finally listened. Because we were persistent. And because we were right.
The reinstated FHA loan limit formula and cap change will help make mortgages more affordable and accessible for hard-working, middle-class families in 669 counties in 42 states and territories, where the average loan limit reduction after the reset last month was more than $68,000. The provision reinstates the FHA loan limits through 2013 at 125 percent of local area median home prices, up to a maximum of $729,750 in the highest cost markets, the floor will remain at $271,050. However, Congress chose not to apply the loan limits restoration to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Fannie-and-Freddie-backed mortgages will remain at 115 percent of local area median home prices up to $625,500.
The bill also provides for a short-term extension of the National Flood Insurance Program through December 16, 2011. NAR will continue to press Congress to use the additional time to complete their work on a five-year reauthorization of the program, which ensures access to affordable flood insurance for millions of home and business owners across the country.
I know that when we work together we can accomplish anything we set our minds to in order to preserve, protect and defend the American Dream of Home Ownership.
Because of your excellent work, I am continually reminded that “REALTORS® are the Heart of the Deal.”
With much appreciation,
Moe Veissi

FIVE REASONS TO LIST DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON VS. WAITING UNTIL JANUARY
1.) We agree, there may be less buyers out there, however those who are out there looking are the most serious buyers.
2.) There are typically fewer homes on the market during the holidays, which equates to less competition and possibly more $$$$$.
3.) Just think about it, you decorate your home for the holidays, invite the buyers in to see your home at its BEST!
4.) Buyers may have more time off from work during the holidays, leaving more time to view your property.
5.) There is a possibility you can sell NOW, and not move til January or February...as opposed to just starting the whole process at that time.
